Using the digital platforms of blog and twitter creating awareness and advocacy for the Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on SDG 15 and land degradation neutrality which underpins the achievement of multiple SDGs related to food security, environmental protection and the sustainable use of natural resources. Main focus on SDG 15.3: "By 2030, combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil, including land affected by desertification, drought and floods, and strive to achieve a land degradation-neutral world". Soil fertility depends on several factors: the soil age, its parent material, its organic matter content, the climate and people. Soil is key to food security and we therefore cannot take soils for granted. Soil is also key to mitigating climate change via carbon sequestration. Carbon sequestration is the process involved in carbon capture and the long-term storage of atmospheric carbon dioxide or other forms of carbon to mitigate or defer global warming. Interlinked focus areas include SDG 15.1 "Ensure conservation of ecosystems and their services". SDG15.2 "Promote sustainable management of forests". SDG 15.4 "Ensure conservation of mountain ecosystems". SDG 15.5 "Reduce degradation of natural habitats". SDG 15.8 "Reduce impact of invasive alien species". SDG 15.9 "Integrate ecosystem and biodiversity values in policy".
