Abiodun Akanbi, a 2014 graduate of Economics from the University of Ibadan, is a graduate student in the M.Sc. program in Sustainable Development Practice at the Centre for Sustainable Development, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Currently, Abiodun is the head, research and recruitment at REES Africa; a social enterprise positioned to redefine Africans lifestyle with the tools renewable energy and environmental sustainability. He volunteers as a local coordinator at African Students for Liberty, where he is actively advancing the ideas of free markets and individual liberty on campuses. Abiodun is the assistant project coordinator at Push Foundation; a charity organization aimed at touching the lives of the less privileged via realistic initiatives such as youth empowerment and acquisition of skills, monthly welfare program for the needy, regular visit to the orphanage, and child right advocacy.
Abiodun is an Economist, Libertarian, Research Data Analyst, Sustainable Development Practitioner and Social /Tech Entrepreneur. A young man of vision that always wants positive change. Creative thinker and result oriented guy that admires meritocracy and excellence in service. Basically, he tends to see what others do not see in positive ways and has intelligent fun while bringing it to fore; in order to achieve a different but improved result.
As a Sustainable development practitioner and result oriented guy that admires meritocracy and excellence in service, he is working to develop a platform and enabling environment that encourages utilizing creativity and expertise for efficient and effective results to achieve inclusive development in a sustainable manner. Abiodun is eager to join and collaborate with individuals, organizations or platforms where speed, service, security, peace, prosperity and sustainability are their core values.
