About Centre of Global Development UCC

The Centre for Global Development at UCC was launched in 2011 in support of UCC’s strategic commitment to adopt a global perspective in all of its activities, and recognising the existing diverse range of global development activities already taking place across the University. The CGD will promote research and teaching (including already existing activities) which enhance knowledge and awareness of major development issues and which contribute to capacity strengthening to address these issues. The CGD will support broader student involvement and public engagement activities, including regular public lectures by high-profile speakers, which will contribute to wider knowledge on development perspectives
