African Conference of Young on Climate and SDG (ACOY) 2018

African Conference of Young on Climate and SDG (ACOY) 2018 The COY (Conference of Youth, COY) brings together young people from around the world committed to finding the right solutions to cope with the effects of climate change and promoting sustainable lifestyles and passionate about environmental issues and to climate change. It promotes the sharing of experiences, knowledge and good practices and involves the younger generations in the development, implementation and monitoring-evaluation of strategies, programs and projects able to solve the problems caused by the phenomenon. It also prepares the young participants of the COP and links the contribution of young people to the thematic discussions of the COP. In addition to the COY organized in the country hosting the COP, YOUNGO encourages young people from all countries and regions to mobilize and organize conferences in their countries and regions. Since 2015 these conferences can have the title of local or regional COY as a deconcentrated COY. The latter are organized under the tutelage of YOUNGO by youth organizations engaged in the noble fight for the preservation of our ecosystem at all and against the harmful effects of climate change. This year, following a competitive and selective process, Burkina Faso through the National Coordination of Youth for the Environment and Climate (CONAJEC), supported by its peers from all regions of Africa was chosen and mandated to organize the COY Africa 2018 (ACOY 2018). After a first edition held in Uganda from September 28 to October 1, 2017, the 2018 edition of COY Africa, the first of its kind in a French-speaking country and a West African country, will be held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. , from 01 to 03 November 2018. Placed under the theme "Implementation of the National Determined Contributions (CDNs) of African countries, Paris Agreement and Talanoa Dialogue: What contribution of African youth", it will bring together 500 young people from all African countries and the diaspora. It will help prepare the continent's youth on the current and future challenges of climate change, the challenges and challenges of implementing the Paris Agreement, and then prepare the African youth for one for active participation in COY 14 and the COP 24 that will take place in December 2018, in Poland.ACOY 2018 will also be one of the levers for an active contribution of the African youth to the Talanoa dialogue and to the current processes of implementation of the Paris Agreement. About CONAJEC Coordination Nationale des Jeunes pour l'Environnement et le Climat

The National Coordination of Youth for the Environment and Climate (CONAJEC) is an organization bringing together young leaders and organizations from all over Burkina, who work for the preservation of the environment and against the harmful effects of climate change . These young people believe that protecting the environment for a better future remains a challenge and a challenge at the local, national and global levels. For that, CONAJEC wants to make young people, actors of the search for solutions for the survival and the well-being of the planet.

The main objective of CONAJEC is to mobilize youth on the issues of climate change and for the preservation of the environment, through information, awareness raising, the promotion of innovative solutions, training, documentation, advocacy, studies, research, etc. It was born from the 11th edition of the Youth Conference (COY 11) held in Paris, France and several countries of the world from 26 to 28 November 2015, on the sidelines of the 21st edition of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21).
