Ist Children`s Hackathon on SDGs

Belarus Minsk
Number of people taking this action: 20-50
Ist Children`s Hackathon on SDGs is designed for high school children from all regions of Belarus. In small groups youngsters design their ideas on promoting SDGs through the means of social advertising. Under the supervision of invited mentors from social media, advertising companies, trainers of non-formal education and coding, the groups create the prototyps of social advertising contributing to promotion of one or several SDGs to different target groups. Using the technology of augmented reality (AR), programming language Scratch and other graphic and programming tools the children try to make SDGs icons clear and understandable for each person. In their short videos they introduce easy everyday steps and actions as an open space for pledges and contributions, in order to provide everyone with possibilities for active participation in SDGs achievement. In a call of proposals children throughout Belarus apply to the hackathon and have a chance as a winner to have an internship at one of the local social media companies or go to the bigger Hackathon to Estonia.
