About Kikandwa Environmental Association

Kikandwa Environmental Association (KEA) is a Community Based development organization founded in 1999 with a purpose of addressing rural development issues and natural resources management. KEA was born out of the need to address the alarming low levels of agricultural productivity, high level of food insecurity, low income in the rural communities in addition to protecting natural resources against rapid degradation in which more than 75% of the people in Uganda depend for their livelihood. It also focuses on eradication of illiteracy and technology innovation.

We promote Local Innovation using indigenous KNOWLEDGE which is some one’s own initiative triggered by problems/opportunities that can be solved by using available local resources or new and better ways of doing things are developed.

 SDGs Implementation:

Build on the principle of “leaving no one behind “on the new Agenda, we emphasize a holistic approach to achieving sustainable development for all. (No body on Earth who knows everything and No body who does not know anything),therefore each and every body has to contribute some thing however small or however big in order all of us to achieve SDGs and Agenda 2030

We align our strategies with the Global Goals for Sustainable Development – 17 objectives that aim to end hunger, poverty, and inequality, and to effectively tackle climate change.
