Arkana Andriadi Budiarko, a youth activist from Indonesia, initiated a charity project named “Tas untuk Sahabat/Bags For Friends” that provided children in remote areas of Borneo with hundreds of free school bags.
The 9th-grade student, who has had many speaking engagements including a TED Talk and writes blogs for the voice of youth UNICEF website, organized the school bag distribution together with sehatcerdas.id. The project helps make education more accessible for underprivileged children, while also serving as a symbol for change and a better future.
The contributions of Arkana and his partners to SDGs 3 & 4 are a powerful example of uniting for equal access to education.
