Age Nigeria Foundation is the largest NGO dedicated purely to the plights of older people across many cities towns and communities in Nigeria. It is by no mean feat that the foundation has reached out to over 1 million older people in Nigeria. The Foundation strategies, programmes and activities are driven by older people themselves in our quest to promote Older People participation in issues that directly affect them in the society. The foundation has series of events and programmes that benefit the older people on daily basis and also organise events and seminars almost on weekly and monthly basis across all our centers in the country. We also embarked on some International events and collaborations that makes Older people in Nigeria to be engaged and informed about their rights and steps to be taken to achieve them. Age Nigeria Foundation is a local partner with Helpage International on ADA activities and fully involve older people in Nigeria in all their ADA campaigns activities and engagement with the government at state and local government level boosting their confidence and empowering them to play active role on issues that affect them in their immediate communities. Since 2016 we have been an accredited member to United Nation Open Ended Committee on Ageing. We have collaborating activities also with Common Age, International Network on Prevention of Elder Abuse Nigeria INPEA, NGO ON AGEING, World Health Organisation AGE FRIENDLY CITIES AND COMMUNITIES, an initiative that involve Age Nigeria Foundation linking 36 state capitals and 14 towns and communities (50 cities and communities) to be part of the global Age Friendly Cities and Communities, a major project that older people in Nigeria is playing major role in its implementation.
