Danube for Peace

For years ago, we started to create a strategic partnership with our partners in Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia with the idea to prepare a permanent project in connection with Danube River and to support the creation of the new generation of young travelers with a different approach to travel. After many meetings with potential partners in summer 2015 we had our pilot Danube Peace Boat E.U.R.O.P.E. Project to test basic elements of the Project, new Possibilities for Future Development and sustainability of the creative, interactive, online and innovative Modules:   • Cultivating New Generation of Travelers; • Traveling Classroom for Traditional, Cultural and Natural Heritage; • Wakeup Interest and Motivation for development of the Responsible and Sustainable Tourism; • Create Platform for Promotion of Creative Tourism, Green and Bio Technologies, Alternative and Renewable Sources of Energy; • Traveling like a tool for Promotion Inclusion, Reconciliation and Peace, Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue and Understanding.   Cultivate New Generation ready to combine Tolerance, Knowledge and Skills about Cultural, Historical, Traditional and Environmental Heritage in Different Media outcomes with content same good for motivation, wake up the vocation, education and traveling workshop presentation. Our focus is to find a solution to support:   1. Inclusive and sustainable economic growth2. Social inclusiveness, employment and poverty reduction3. Resource efficiency, environmental protection and climate change4. Cultural values, diversity and heritage5. Mutual understanding, peace and security

About Media Education Centre

The mission of the Media Education Centre is to promote role of the Media, Peace and Information Literacy in the transition to sustainable ways of living and a global society founded on a shared ethical framework that includes respect and care for the community of life, new media pedagogy, ecological integrity, universal human rights, respect for diversity, economic justice, democracy, and a culture of peace.

The Media Education Centre (MEC) for children, youth and adults is a nonpolitical, nonprofit, nonsectarian NGO. People from different socio-cultural backgrounds work together converting and translating ideas and opinion in creative Media Language and Produce Film, Animation, Radio, Television and other Digital Media with main goal to ADVANCE Communication, Social Change, Intercultural-Interfaith Dialogue, Social Inclusion, Gender Equality, Ecological Wisdom and Social Responsible Development. Our work promotes the Global Education, Vocational Education and Training, New Media Education/Pedagogy for Children, Young Adults, Disabled People, Migrants, Refugees and people from other vulnerable groups. Media, Information and Peace education and literacy support our effort to promote Communication, Cooperation and Peace and to ensure promotion and implementation of human and children’s rights, media and information democracy, self-expression and preservation of cultural national and religious diversity.
