The Libyan Transparency Association (LTA) was Established in May 2011 and It is the first Libyan NGO that focuses on curbing corruption, organized crime and promoting the principles of Transparency and good governance and access to information.
We organized The First Libya Transparency Roundtable "closed-door roundtable meetings" 'Libya's oil and finance future begins now' on 13-14 December 2011.
We presented a formal letter to the Prime Minister of the Libyan government on anti-corruption policies in Libya and further promoting the implementations of UN Conventions against Corruption on 07/05/2012.
We are the first Organization has Celebrations of the International Anti-Corruption Day on 9 December 2011,2012 and on 09 December 2013 The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya in cooperation with Libyan Transparency Association commemorated the International Anti Corruption Day under a theme " zero corruption and 100% development".
We push a parallel report on the commitment of the Libyan government to apply the articles and subjects of the International United Nations Convention against Corruption(UNCAC)and to build a full strategy on convention against corruption in Libya which includes effective applicable working plans, instruments, and reports to establish an independent authority for fighting corruption to monitor applying this strategy.
We plan to push for new government and local government in Libya to have the checks and balances, accounting control, free access to information and accountability to handle the flow of large sums of money and promoting the Citizen Participation and Local Democracy in Libya.
LTA also work in the field of against Transnational Organized Crime.
